DRAFT — MD + ATTORNEY REVIEW REQUIRED. This page is a structural, good-faith draft. It must be reviewed and signed off by both a licensed medical professional and legal counsel before launch. Until that review is complete, treat this copy as a placeholder, not a finished disclaimer.

Medical Disclaimer

Last updated: PLACEHOLDER DATE — not yet in effect.

We'd rather say this plainly than bury it in legalese: PoopRx is here to help you understand what's normal, cite real sources, and tell you clearly when something is worth a doctor's attention. It is not, and was never meant to be, a replacement for one.

This is general education, not medical advice

PoopRx (the "Site") provides general educational information about digestive and bowel health. Nothing on this Site — including the wizard, results/phenotype pages, articles, and fun facts — constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and none of it is a substitute for the independent judgment of a qualified healthcare provider who actually knows your history and can examine you.

The wizard is an educational tool, not a symptom checker of record

The wizard is built to help you understand common patterns and find cited information faster than a search engine would — it is not a diagnostic device, not a clinical triage tool, and its output is not a medical record of your symptoms. It does not know your full history, cannot examine you, and can be wrong. Treat every result as a starting point for a conversation with a real clinician, not an endpoint.

No doctor-patient relationship

Using this Site, including completing the wizard, does not create a doctor-patient relationship between you and PoopRx, its medical reviewer(s), any gastroenterologist partner, or any other contributor. No one at PoopRx is acting as your treating clinician.

Emergencies: go now, don't wait on us

If you believe you may be experiencing a medical emergency — including but not limited to the red-flag signs described elsewhere on this Site (for example: heavy or ongoing rectal bleeding, black/tarry stool, severe abdominal pain, fainting or dizziness alongside bleeding) — call 911 (or your local emergency number) or go to the nearest emergency room immediately. Do not wait for a wizard result, an email reply, or anything else on this Site before seeking emergency care. Nothing here is built or intended to be fast enough, or informed enough about you personally, to make that call for you.

Medical review process

Content on this Site is intended to be reviewed by a licensed medical professional before publication, with the reviewer's name and review date shown on each page. Until that review is complete for a given page, its content should be treated as a structural draft, not verified medical information — pages under active review are marked as such.

Accuracy and limitations

We aim to cite a credible source for every factual claim on this Site, and to say "we don't know" plainly when a claim can't be sourced (see the myth vs. fact page for examples). Even so: medical understanding evolves, individual circumstances vary enormously, and no self-guided tool — however well cited — can account for your full medical history, medications, or exam findings. When in doubt, talk to a real clinician instead of trusting a website, including this one.

Supplement and product statements

PoopRx does not currently sell any supplement or product. If that ever changes, any structure/function claim made about a PoopRx-branded product will carry the required FDA boldface disclaimer here and on the product itself:

PLACEHOLDER — DSHEA boilerplate slot for future own-brand products: "This statement has not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease." This slot stays empty of any actual product claim until legal/regulatory review of that specific product's labeling and marketing copy is complete — see Stage 4 of the monetization plan for the required compliance gate.

Changes to this disclaimer

If this disclaimer changes in a way that affects what it covers, we'll post the update here with a new "last updated" date.

Questions

PLACEHOLDER — contact email/address pending, for questions about this disclaimer specifically.

Your answers never leave your device.

The wizard runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to a server, stored in an account, or shared — ever.
